How Nepal Aviation Services Ensures Seamless Ground Handling & Charter Support for International and Private Flights
Pokhara International Airport is set to reach a major milestone, with Fly Dubai securing approval to operate daily international flights starting September 23, 2026.
The decision follows a recent, comprehensive inspection by Fly Dubai’s technical team, which successfully evaluated the airport's security arrangements, safety protocols, and overall operational capacity. This successful assessment officially clears the way for regular direct international services from the city.
Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya called the approval a historic opportunity to elevate the city's global profile. He emphasized that the new international connection will boost tourism, stimulate the local economy, and help ease the heavy air traffic currently concentrated in Kathmandu. He also urged all stakeholders to collaborate in making Pokhara's integration into the international aviation network a success.
Inaugurated on January 1, 2023, and built with a loan investment of approximately Rs. 22 billion, the airport had previously been limited to domestic routes. Now, over three years after its opening, the launch of Fly Dubai’s regular daily service is expected to finally bring long-awaited momentum to the airport's international operations.
